THE PRAYER OF WORSHIP – MINISTERING TO THE LORD

📖 Thursday, September 18th, 2025

TO THE BIBLE
Acts 13:2 (KJV) – “As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.”

Devotional Thought

The highest kind of prayer is not asking, petitioning, or even interceding—it is worship. The prayer of worship is not about us but about God. It is when we minister to Him in reverence, love, and adoration simply because of who He is.

In Acts 13:2, the early church was not presenting requests; they were ministering to the Lord in fasting and worship. Out of that atmosphere, the Holy Spirit spoke direction and released destiny. Worship opens the heavens—not because we’re demanding, but because we’re delighting in Him.
When you worship, you bless the Lord. You shift from “God, do this for me” to “Father, You are worthy, holy, mighty, and glorious.”

True worship is a sacrifice (Hebrews 13:15)—not focused on circumstances, but on the unchanging greatness of God.
Many times, answers we seek are hidden in the place of worship. Why? Because worship aligns our hearts with God’s heart. It magnifies Him above the situation, releasing His presence and power in ways supplication alone cannot. Worship draws us nearer, transforming us from glory to glory.

Worship is not for when you feel good—it is a lifestyle. Whether in song, in prayer, in quiet adoration, or in tongues, you can minister to the Lord daily. As you do, your spirit is lifted, your faith is strengthened, and heaven responds with glory.

CONFESSION

Heavenly Father, I worship You in the beauty of holiness. You are great and greatly to be praised. I minister to You with thanksgiving, adoration, and love. My heart delights in Your presence, and my lips declare Your majesty. You are all in all to me. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY

John 4:23-24 – The hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

Hebrews 13:15 – By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Psalm 29:2 – Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

ACT

Spend at least 15 minutes today in prayer without asking for anything. Just worship. Sing, adore, and minister to the Lord in love. Write down anything the Spirit impresses upon your heart as you worship.
