THE PRAYER OF FAITH

TO THE BIBLE
James 5:15 – “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”

LET’S TALK

One of the most effective and result-producing kinds of prayer in the Scriptures is the prayer of faith. Unlike other types of prayer (such as supplication, intercession, or worship), the prayer of faith is direct, definite, and unwavering. It does not beg; it believes, declares, and receives.

The prayer of faith is rooted in absolute confidence in God’s Word. When you pray this way, you are not hoping that God might respond; you know He already has. That’s why Jesus said in Mark 11:24: “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

Notice His instruction: “believe that you receive them, and ye shall have them.” This means you take possession at the point of prayer, not when the physical manifestation shows up. Faith is the evidence (Hebrews 11:1). You declare it done, and it is settled in the realm of the Spirit.

The prayer of faith leaves no room for double-mindedness. James 1:6-7 says the one who wavers will not receive anything from the Lord. To be effective, your faith must be steadfast, established on the unchanging Word of God.

Think of Elijah in 1 Kings 17. He declared with boldness: “There shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.” That was the prayer of faith in action. He didn’t plead; he decreed, and heaven backed him.

The prayer of faith is not restricted to healing. It works in finances, family, protection, ministry, and nations. Once you have God’s Word concerning a situation, you can pray the prayer of faith and establish heaven’s will on earth.

Therefore, don’t pray weak, doubtful prayers. When you stand in prayer, stand on the integrity of God’s Word. Speak it, believe it, and refuse to consider anything else. That’s how to live victoriously and establish God’s dominion in your world.

CONFESSION

My faith is alive, strong, and unshakable. As I pray in faith, I lay hold on God’s promises and enforce His will on earth. The prayer of faith works for me every time, producing undeniable results in my health, finances, family, church, and nation, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY

Mark 11:22-24 – Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

1 John 5:14-15 – And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

James 1:6 – But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

ACT

Today, write down one pressing situation in your life or nation. Find a specific promise of God concerning it. Then, pray the prayer of faith—believe you’ve received—and begin to thank God for the manifestation.
