TO THE BIBLE
Hosea 14:2 – “Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.”
Devotional Thought :
Prayer is not complete until words are spoken. Silent thoughts don’t change nations, but Spirit-filled words do. God Himself framed the world with words (Hebrews 11:3), and as His children, we establish our dominion in prayer by the words of our mouth.
Proverbs 18:21 tells us that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” This means every time you open your mouth in prayer, you’re either releasing life or aligning with defeat. That’s why Hosea exhorts us to “bring words” when we come before God. Not careless, fearful, or doubtful words—but words aligned with truth, faith, and righteousness.
Words are seeds. When you sow the Word of God in prayer, you reap the harvest of answers, victory, and divine manifestations. On the other hand, wrong words can cancel even your heartfelt intercessions. That’s why effective prayer is not just about intensity but accuracy—speaking God’s Word back to Him in faith.
Jesus Himself declared, “You shall have whatsoever you say” (Mark 11:23).
Notice He didn’t say you shall have what you wish; He said you shall have what you SAY. Dominion in prayer is voice-activated. When you decree healing, angels respond. When you declare peace, storms bow. When you proclaim salvation over a city, the heavens open and hearts are softened.
Therefore, be intentional with your words in prayer. Don’t just pour out emotions; release decrees. Don’t just complain about circumstances; speak solutions. The Word in your mouth is as powerful as the Word in God’s mouth, because it carries the same Spirit and authority.
CONFESSION
My tongue is sanctified to speak God’s Word in prayer. I bring right words before the Lord, and as I declare His promises, my dominion is established. My prayers are effective, producing mighty results in my life, family, church, and the nations. Hallelujah!
