Romans 8:1 (KJV) – “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…”
✨ Devotional Thought:
After understanding the call to guard your heart (Proverbs 4:23) from lies, legalism, and worldly influence, a new question may arise: “Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?” (Romans 6:1).
The heart guarded by grace must also be guided by truth. Grace is not permission to sin—it is power over sin.
Justification is not probation. When you were declared righteous, it was not with an asterisk—it was complete and eternal (Romans 5:1).
But here lies the tension: if God’s grace is so overwhelming and His forgiveness so absolute, what keeps the believer from abusing this liberty?
The answer is found in identity. You’re no longer in sin—you are in Christ.
The man who could enjoy sin died (Romans 6:2–6). Now, the Holy Spirit works within to transform you, not to condemn you. He convicts not of your failures, but of your righteousness in Christ (John 16:10).
When your heart is rooted in that righteousness, sin loses its appeal and authority.
The believer who walks in grace does not ask, “How much can I get away with?” Instead, his heart cries, “How close can I stay to the One who loved me so much?” Grace guards your heart—not by fear, but by freedom (Galatians 5:1).
🔍 Supporting Scriptures:
Romans 6:1–2 – “Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid…”
Hebrews 10:10,14 – “…by one offering He has perfected forever them that are sanctified.”
Galatians 2:21 – “If righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”
Romans 6:14 – “Sin shall not have dominion over you…”
2 Corinthians 5:21 – “For he hath made him to be sin for us… that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
🙏🏽 Prayer:
Father, thank You for justifying me and freeing me from condemnation. Let Your grace teach my heart to say no to sin and yes to righteousness. I choose to live from identity, not insecurity—from grace, not guilt. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
💬 Confession:
“I am not under condemnation. I am under grace. Sin has no dominion over me because I am dead to sin and alive to God in Christ. I walk in the Spirit, not in shame. My heart is guarded by truth and grounded in righteousness.”
