Seeking the Lord

“Seeking the lord” is actually a paradox . It’s another way of saying let Him find you ,he’s looking for you .

Don’t hide from me .

Paul said as much at Athens in Acts 17

“He has done this so that they would look for God, somehow reach for him, and find him. In fact, he is never far from any one of us.”

The original words means literally no distance

You can’t be looking for who and what is right here and there with you .

Looking for Him means to let Him reach you.

Our preaching of the Gospel isn’t taking Him to men as such .

He is very close Already .

It’s alerting them of His presence and revelation .

Hence a rejection is a Damnation .

Self indicting one .

The Hebrews writer called it Faith .

for whoever comes to God must have faith that God exists ..(Hebrews 11:6)

Where does He exist?

Exactly where they are ,where we are .

Echoing the psalmist

Psalm 139:7-9 KJV
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8] If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9] If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

He is to be found by letting Him find us .

He’s the one seeking us out .

Like the Good shepherd .

Like Jesus in the four gospels.

So when the old Christians ask us to hold on to God

They mean ,”Let Him Hold you “.

We aren’t the ones holding on to Him, He’s the one who has (had)found us when we see Him.

He’s the one now doing the “Holding”.

This paradox of scripture is from Genesis to Revelation .

It’s God always seeking us to seek Him.

Asking Us to see Him Holding us after we have believed.

Keeping our eyes on His Keeping us .

The paradox and irony of His love and passion

You might say🙂

And since Genesis 3 he’s still the one saying

Where are you!
