WHEN YOUR MENTOR INTRODUCE YOU TO HIS OWN MENTOR

WHEN YOUR MENTOR INTRODUCE YOU TO HIS OWN MENTOR

There are different types of mentor in ministry. One way or the other your path will cross with each one. They all have a role to play in your life.

CHARACTER MOLDING MENTOR – This mentor comes with a formal sense of shaping your character. This type do not act friendly with you but sounds harsh and stern. They lead you with a rod of iron. They point out your errors at every given instance. They look like haters but if you stay focus you will emerge like gold out of fire.

DISCIPLINE MENTOR- These type teach you discipline without you even knowing. They take you out of food into a fasting machine. They gradually help you imbibe the discipline it takes to say “NO” to certain things in life. They help you filter what is good from what is best. They point out the path to go

RELATIONAL MENTOR – This type comes friendly and show you what it means to relate with others. If you are not careful you will call these type ungodly because they go all out to relate with others in a way that you don’t understand. While others suspect them with fornication or adultery you must stay focus to learn what God wants you to learn

CONNECTORS/BRIDGE MENTORS- This is the one God brings into your life after you have gone through the three above and doors fling open for you. They connect you to the high and mighty. If you’re not sensitive and knowledgeable about mentorship you will think the previous ones cheated you. You will be tempted to say other mentors used and dumped you. No! They were building you for this one whom God destined to connect you.

THINGS YOU MUST DO BEFORE YOU MEET YOUR DESTINY CONNECTORS

It is very paramount you understand how mentorship works. You must do the following:

(1) Build Character – Any part you missed is like a carry over. If your character is not shaped it will expel you from number 4 above. Anointing can raise you up but only character sustains you up there.

(2) Discipline Yourself – Whether God gives you number 2 above or not, discipline yourself. You cannot afford to sleep anyhow in life if you want a place at the top. You cannot become for food only if you desire top position in destiny. It takes discipline to rise. Whether in business, ministry or sport, discipline sets you ahead

(3) Know your boundaries- Those who jump the gun always crash land. Too much haste is dangerous. Don’t try to outshine your mentor. Know your place, fit into that place and function from it. Often times what closes your doors is inability to stay at your boundary

(4) Learn Etiquette – in every field there are ethics. That your mentor draw you closer should not make you see him as colleague or friend. Access is not for dishonour. That he gives you high five doesn’t make you classmates. Never use his or her humility as a license to treat your mentor with disrespect

(5) Practice HONOUR- You cannot be shaking hands with mentors standing like iroko tree. Are you normal? 🤷 Take Morality out of Christianity and you are no different from a vagabond. Honour is the key to open doors. Those who wants results must follow those who have results

I pray for you today that the Lord will grant you grace to follow well so as to attain in Jesus name
